As a part of its capacity building activities, RCL conducted a Two day Training Program on Lighting on September 08, 09, 2009 at the Committee room C of the BMICH Colombo. The target group for the training course were practicing engineers, architects, designers, planners working in the areas of lighting design, electrical installations building services and staff involved in Lighting products sales / services.
Dr. Nalin Wickremarachchi demonstrating some techniques
The resource persons for this training program are Dr. Rahula Attalage, Dr. Nalin Wickremarachchi, and Mr. Narein Perera of University Moratuwa, Mr. Harsha Wickremasinghe of SLSEA, and Mr. Nihal Perera from the lighting industry. In addition to their academic and industry exposure to the field of Lighting, all of them had a special training at Lighting Research Center, USA, which is the knowledge partner of RCL.
The inauguration of the training course coincided with the launch of the website of RCL, www.rclsa.net and therefore, the participants had an opportunity to understand the role and activities of the RCL and modes of knowledge dissemination as well, at the very outset of the program. Thirty participants from the industry, utilities and the policy makers have participated in this activity.
